We are proud to offer some online entertainment and exercise for 6 weeks starting Jan 24th, 2021. All sessions are held on ZOOM. Below you will see the descriptions of the events, any special directions for the coming week’s activity and the Zoom link so you can come and join in. There is NO sign up… just come if you are available. Everything is free, but if you would like to make a donation to the certified exercise instructors or general donation to VASS, we are always happy to help and there will be a button available on the Zoom sessions.
Sunday NIGHT – Ski and Snowboard Show 7-830pm -HOST: James Peters and Guest experts
This is a place for instructors to come together online and learn more about their own abilities, tactics and drills to improve skiing and snowboarding skills and how to adapt them to meet the needs of our students. ***Feb 28 – Continuing to play with assessment tools while looking at sit skiing and adapting drill to address improvement of participant. Also having a discussion about what the CADS 2 or 3 certification entails and how you can prepare for it.
Monday NIGHT – Power Yoga 7-8pm – Taught by Nina Mistry
Fast flowing session with a mix of vinyasas and stretching. 60 minutes session. Good for people with some knowledge of Yoga. *** please have a yoga mat, a screen big enough to watch while you are participating and a yoga block and or towel.
Nina Mistry is a registered yoga teacher and a certified laughter yoga leader. She has been exploring yoga and laughter for as long as she can remember. Being born in Mumbai gave her a strong connection to India and its teachings. Her journey with laughter began as a child, joking around with friends, and developed into stand up comedy as an adult. Now she uses yoga and the power of laughter to help people bring peace to their mind, body and soul. Nina feels life is too short to be taken seriously, so she empowers individuals to find their inner child through movement and playfulness. Her classes tend to be a mixture of traditional and non-traditional asanas (poses) mixed with pranayama (breathwork). She loves to create classes that make your soul smile. Tuesday NIGHT – Weightless Workout session 7-745pm – Lead by Sarah Van Noort – Personal trainer at Innovative Fitness North Vancouver
This weekly workout will focus on a full body workout while working only against your own body weight. Moves can be adapted depending on your abilities and we will do our best to keep these exercises accessible for everyone. Wednesday NIGHT – Meditation 830-9pm – Lead by Master Hypnotherapist James Peters
This will be an exploration of meditation in the middle of the week. Designed to allow you to find some peace and then just chill-out until bedtime. When we meditate, we inject far-reaching and long-lasting benefits into our lives. We lower our stress levels, we get to know our pain, we connect better, we improve our focus, and we’re kinder to ourselves.
Saturday MORNING – Yoga Light 9-945am – Lead by Danya Nonis
This is a class suited for everyone wanting to learn more about yoga or for people looking for more of a stretching yoga routine*** please have a yoga mat, a screen big enough to watch while you are participating and a yoga block and or towel.
