It is likely that some of you have heard of Safe Sport. It is an initiative to make sure that all participants in sport programming have the safest possible experience when dealing with coaches, volunteers and other participants.
At VASS, this year and moving forward, all volunteers, staff and board members must take this 90 minute training to support this initiative. It is all run through NCCP, the National Canadian Certification Program and it is FREE. In our registration this year, we will be requesting that you enter your NCCP # and declare that you have completed the course.
It is all free, which is amazing and the NCCP has lots of other courses if you are interested in upgrading some skills.
To sign up, click here and it will take you to their page, and in the right top corner you will find THE LOCKER. This is where you can sign up or enter your credentials.
After you are logged in, look for e-learning as a menu at the top and find the SAFE SPORT TRAINING. It takes about 90 minutes to go through the material.
There are a series of images below that will answer many questions as you are getting all setup…
Afterwards, if you have any questions, I would be happy to talk, just give me call. James 604.646.8277
