Sit skiing is an incredible sport that is often used by people that use wheelchairs or have mobility challenges…. but in truth it is just a wicked awesome sport that anyone can learn. All programs are open to all diagnosis and age groups.
Wednesday Night Learn to Sit Ski | Mt Seymour $250
January 5- March 1, 2023 -6:00-9:00 pm
This program is designed for people that are new to the sport and have a goal of becoming as independent as possible. We have a fleet of sit skis that are ideal for newbies as they have a little bigger base of support to help with your balance as you continue to develop your skill. Plus the incredible carpet area at Seymour is all you could ever ask for to give you lots of challenge with maximum opportunity for error correction. Lead by one of our Level 3 CADS course conductor, this program is going to make legends. This program also has access to a hand controlled sitski, Snowkart, and a sit ski that can be controlled by joystick or sip and puff technology, the Tetraski. All limitations have now been removed.
Thursday and more Sit Ski | Grouse Mountain $250
January 26-March 2, 2023 -6:00-9:00 pm
The Thursday night program is our intermediate to advance sitski program. We have fleet of mono and aggressive bi/dual sit skis that are ready to support your development along with a very experienced sit ski crew of instructors. They will use their keen skills and a little technology to help push you to new heights. Lead by a Level 3 CADS course conductor, the goal is to get everyone to full independence so you can go and rock with family and friends.

Please also signup for this program if you want to sitski on any other session that is offered at Grouse and make a note in your registration for the day you would like to ski. We have such a diverse team of instructors, you can literally join any session you want. We are ready to meet your needs.
Saturday Morning Drop-in Sit Ski | Mt Seymour
January 28- March 20,2023 – Times Vary on availability
This is our most flexible sit ski offering. We can support students with very low mobility all the way to super advance sit skiers. Instead of offering a 6 week program, people wishing to be in the Seymour Saturday Sit Ski Program must express their interest by completing the registration for the program and then December 15th, 2020, we will hold a lottery. The program cost is $150 for three lessons and $50 for a drop in session. The lottery will decide who gets the first choice on time and lesson blocks. The first name drawn will get first choice and we will continue until all spot are filled. Anyone who does not make the main program goes on a waiting/drop-in list and fills in on any vacancy during the regular program and will at least get out once or twice on the drop in days. Tetraski Private Sitski Lesson | Mt. Seymour – $100 per lesson

The Tetraski is a one of a kind adventure in Canada and VASS is the only club that currently operates this ski. The sit ski is controlled by the student either using a joystick or sip and puff technology. The machine has a variety of setup options to meet the needs of most people. Lessons are run by highest level instructors that have special certification to operate the sit ski and maximize all safety aspects for everyone.
Drop-In Ski, Board and Sit Ski Lesson | ALL Mountains $100 per lesson

If you don’t think any of the programs really address your specific needs nor time frames, then please sign up for the opportunity to be notified when singular lesson opportunities become available. We will do our best to fill them and you can take up to 3 lessons a season.
Blue Streaks ALL MOUNTAIN | Grouse Mountain $250
January 29-March 5, 2023- 1:00-4:00pm
This program is for students who are at a level of ski or board development where they are at an intermediate level of skill and would benefit from being in a group environment with less direct supervision. The major focus is on getting mileage and having fun. There will be some instruction but it is much more terrain based learning and managing the environment.
Students in this program must be able to ski or snowboard independently and if they cannot they will be asked to leave the program and we may not be able to place them into another program at that point. If you are unsure if this is a good fit, please call James to discuss before the registration day.
TRAINING Saturdays Jan 14- Mar 4, 2023- 7:00am-12:00pm $250

The VASS Adaptive Alpine Racing Program is run in partnership with Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club. Known as “The Blue Streaks” this program is intended for intermediate to advanced skiers with a physical or intellectual disability who have an interest in ski racing. If you are a strong, confident skier who can make it down a blue run, we want to talk to you about joining our team. Team members will start dry land training in the fall and then train and race on Grouse on Thursday evenings and Saturdays. The team will participate in local races at Grouse Mountain as well as other races at ski areas throughout the province. Depending on their ability, racers use recreational skis and boots or race equipment.
***Fees include VASS Program Fees (includes coaching & lift passes) and Tyee Ski Club Membership ($65)
Fees do not include any required travel, accommodation or meals to attend out-of-town races. Fees do not include race fees.
Helmets are required for all racers.
