Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports (VASS) is a registered non-profit society operated by a dedicated group of volunteers, who run skiing and snowboarding programs for persons with a disability at Grouse, Seymour and Cypress Mountains. Our goal is to make the mountain experience accessible to ALL, empowering our students to focus on their abilities rather than disabilities. Read about the impact we’ve had for some of our students.
VASS helps our students overcome barriers, develop skills and experience the exhilarating and social experience of being on the hill. We welcome students of all ages and disabilities and utilize adaptive equipment and/or specialized teaching techniques to maximize a person’s independence on the snow. Both students and volunteers can always be found with smiles on their faces thanks to #VASSMagic!
To meet the needs of its members, VASS offers programs from beginner to advanced, which include snowboarding, sit-ski, stand-up skiing and advanced adaptive ski racing.
The VASS Cup & Snowfest is our premier annual fundraiser. We rely on revenue from the VASS Cup & Snowfest as well as other community partnerships and private donations to make it possible for VASS to continue to provide these programs each year. VASS is also supported by Grouse, Seymour & Cypress Mountains.
